Human Services Planner Position Announcement

Human Services Planner Position Announcement



Northern Illinois University's Center for Governmental Studies (CGS) seeksto add a Human Services Planner to the staff of its affiliate, the DuPageFederation on Human Services Reform. This position performs advanced levelprofessional human services planning functions to independently plan andadminister a county-wide program of human services planning.Responsibilities are broad in nature with general and limited technicalinstruction and require considerable independence in the selection ofcourses of action and resolution of complex or unique problems under limiteddirection.


The successful applicant must have a thorough knowledge of planningprinciples, practices, and techniques as they relate to human services andcommunity development; techniques of plan formulation and implementation;principles and practices of program management and administration; datacollection and analysis; and, principles and techniques of programevaluation and monitoring. The successful candidate must also have theability to prepare, research, develop, and administer plans based on surveyand analysis of data, citizen participation, and agency consultation;effectively respond to and reconcile competing interests; establish andmaintain effective working relationships; and communicate effectively, bothorally and in writing.


A master's degree in Planning, Public Administration, one of the SocialSciences or closely related filed, and at least three years of progressivelyresponsible professional experience in service program planning andadministration, with at least one year in area of assignment, is required.Competitive salary based on experience and full benefits.
