Job Description: NOTE: There are 2 vacancies and by applying to this announcement, you will be considered for both vacancies.

Duties: The position is located in the Background Studies unit of the Licensing Division - Department of Human Services. Major duties involve conducting background studies on persons who provide direct contact services to persons receiving services from

**facilities licensed by the Department of Human Services and the Department of Health;
**facilities serving youth or children licensed by the Department of Corrections and *
*from unlicensed Personal Care Provider organizations.
**determine if background study subject should be disqualified from employment or licensure based upon information gathered from the Social Services Information System (SSIS) and information received from the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Minimum Qualifications: In order to be considered, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:
Two years professional experience OR 1 year professional experience PLUS 2 years advanced technical/paraprofessional experience which demonstrates:
**working knowledge of state rules, regulations and laws governing background studies and reporting of maltreatment of minors;
**ability to collect and analyze information and recommend appropriate actions;
**knowledge of administrative, civil and criminal law pertaining to the background study process;
**the ability to clearly and effectively communicate both orally in written communication;
**the ability to organize work and time to effectively complete work tasks within stated timeframes.
